These are the Exec Ed (Open and Custom), MBA and EMBA courses I lead.

1. Strategic Foresight & Business Future Leadership (4-6 days)
Tools, methods and perspectives of industry and strategic foresight. A capstone course covering topics across most of the shorter courses below.

Topics: Horizon scanning; trend tracking; cognitive biases; forecast filtering; systems thinking; risk management; scenario planning; navigating complexity; ideation and design thinking; integrating responses & resources; strategy formation; product and service adaptation; business model innovation.

2. External Business Acumen: Senior Management Agenda. (2 days)
Addresses major topics in the external environment and how to interpret contextual events in the relevant to strategic decision-making and the senior management agenda. Introduces tools that develop perspective and confidence in manage high-uncertainty decisions situations.

Topics: horizon scanning; trend tracking; issue recognition and interpretation; key trends and external dynamics; management paradigms; forecast filtering; systems effects; developing business acumen; decision-making under uncertainty; strategy formation.

3. Scenario Planning (2-4 days)
A course focused on scenario planning, covering various approaches to the topic. In longer versions of the course (4-days) delegates develop scenarios as a primary learning activity.

Topics: horizon scanning; trend tracking; issue recognition; management paradigms; levels of uncertainty; adaptive scenarios, advocacy scenarios; from scenarios to strategy formation.

4. Systems Thinking (2-4 days)
A course focused on principles of systems dynamics, non-linear causality and using systems analysis to anticipate complex outcomes and overcome recalcitrant problems.

Topics: Principles of systems thinking; causal loop diagrams; feedback effects; systems archetypes; systems intervention; systems-based strategy formation.

5. Design Thinking for Product and Service Innovation (2-4 days)
Course teaches the principles of design thinking for product and service advancement.

Topics: Principles of design; formalist approaches to creativity; ideation; productivity of limits; user analysis; prototyping and renewal; design-based innovation; design and strategy formation.

6. Strategic Thinking & Planning (2-4 days)
A classic strategy course covering principles of strategic analysis and strategy formation (adapted to sector or client interest.)

Topics: Principles of strategic thinking; vision, mission, goals; sources of competitive advantage; Porter’s models; industry analysis; resource-based view of the firm; strategy canvas; risk management; diversification; strategy formation; strategy implementation; strategy and culture.

7. Foresight for Emerging Markets (2-3 days, plus tour if applicable)
 Addresses situational complexity and decision-making in emerging markets using tools of foresight and planning, including case-base learning and situational immersion where possible.

Topics: emerging market studies; issue foresight; key trends and external dynamics; horizon scanning; trend tracking; management paradigms; business acumen, risk management; strategy formation; strategy and culture.

 Programming is adapted to client or delegate situation, and makes extensive use of activity based learning.
